Foyers Lodge is currently recruiting for the position of a productive and friendly Food & Beverage Assistant to work with our small team to deliver excellent service.
This is not a live-in position. We're looking to recruit someone who lives locally or can commute, although there is scope for assistance finding somewhere to stay locally for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities include; taking food and drink orders, serving meals, serving behind the bar and ensuring delivery of exceptional guest service across all areas. Ensure awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety work practices. There may be an occasional requirement for light housekeeping in the downstairs front of house areas. Eligible candidates must be able to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are consistently maintained.
The ideal candidate for this position must be 18+, have a positive attitude and be guest oriented with a passion for the hospitality industry. Previous relevant experience is preferred but not essential. The candidate must take pride in their work, have an eye for detail, work quickly and efficiently and be able to multi-task. In addition, it is imperative they must be happy working in a rural location. Applications should be in English please. The Food & Beverage Assistant will work with all members of our small team to deliver a five-star service at Foyers Lodge.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
· Co-operate with your training so that you are confident and competent
· Laying, clearing and re-laying tables
· Professionally take orders and serve dinner, (occasionally breakfast) drinks and tea/coffee to our guests
· Deliver food and drink to the Dining Room, Drawing Room, Sitting Room and garden
· Knowledge and understanding of the menu including allergens and the drinks/wine list
· Answer queries/complaints as they arise but escalating to owners if required
· Occasionally prepare and serve drinks in the bar
· Provide guests with bills and take payment via chip/pin when necessary
· Clear and clean glasses
· Clear and clean/polish crockery/cutlery
· Restock and replenish kitchen, bar & dining room supplies as necessary
· Alert owners when stock requires re-ordering
· Ensure five-star standards of cleanliness and hygiene are always met
· Ensure correct recycling of plastic, glass, paper and metal as part of your everyday tasks
· Prepare Dining Room for breakfast service which includes sweeping/mopping floors as required after dinner service
· Assisting the owners in other areas of the property as required
· Occasional front of house housekeeping duties may include cleaning, polishing, vacuuming, dusting, high-level dusting (which may require use of a ladder), replenishing of towels/paper towels and toiletries in the downstairs toilets
We’re now looking to recruit a Food & Beverage Assistant who can support the owners of Foyers Lodge for the rest of the season. Start mid-August until close for winter.
Our schedule follows a 10 day on, 4 day off pattern over a 14 day/fortnightly period (the hotel is closed every other Mon/Tues/Weds/Thurs night). Shifts will usually be from 6pm - 10pm but some flexibility required. In addition candidates will need to work every Sunday breakfast shift from 8am – 12 noon. Opportunities for further hours to assist with check-ins in the afternoon if desired.
We will consider a job share arrangement and can be flexible re days worked where possible. 20 -25 hours per week but additional hours available for the right candidate. Additional hours would include earlier starts and the checking-in of guests.
